This morning while the girls and Dee were at the table having breakfast they were able to watch a duck hen scratch out a small depression and lay this egg. I’ve since added a little straw and will wait to see if she won’t possibly end up sitting on a clutch here. It would be fun to be able to watch her everyday as she hatched some ducklings! You can see the white egg just under the bush.

After a 36 hour trip from California we arrived safe and sound at our new house here in Missouri. It was 18 degrees when we arrived at 6 AM; much colder than we were acustom to back in CA!
Our first day in MO was spent getting enrollment paperwork for the children at their new schools, shopping for groceries, picking up cleaning supplies and getting new paint for the wall colors we did not like.
Our house hold goods are scheduled to arrive on Friday. It will be a busy day getting everything unpacked but it will sure be nice to sleep in my own bed again. Air mattresses are better than the floor, but they can sure draw the heat out of you!

Yesterday while the girls were playing in the living room one of them stepped behind the box fan and called for her sister to come find her. She quickly noticed how the fan made the sound of her voice change. Soon they were both standing behind the fan and giggling as they spoke into the fan. It was a joy to listen to them giggle about the fun they were having with their make shift toy.
I remember playing with a fan in a similar manner when I was a kid. It makes me wonder how many generations of adventurous children have done the same thing.

Dee had duty again today and was going to be gone all day. It was going to be a nice day so I decided to do a little geocaching. After breakfast and getting everyone dressed we loaded up and headed out.
We met up with Jeph and his wife Sara after lunch and grabbed a few caches together. It sure helped having that many more sets of eyes to find those caches!
When we all started to get hot we headed our seperate ways. After a quick errand the girls and I stopped at Dairy Queen for some well deserved ice cream.
At the end of the day we logged 13 found caches with zero did not finds. Undoubtedly this was my personal best day so far. And it make it even better, three of those caches were ones I had failed to find on previous attempts.
The girls are all tired after our busy day. A nice warm bath tonight and they should be ready for bed.
