The last of the potatoes from the garden
Well, the last of the potatoes are now out of the garden. We will have these gone by the end of next month.
Well, the last of the potatoes are now out of the garden. We will have these gone by the end of next month.
The garden has been tilled once in preparation of planting. We decided to cut the seed potatoes and allow them to start scanning before planting. This year we will have some reds for new potatoes, some brown Russets and the beautiful Yukon Gold.
Recently I noticed the tail end of a bag of potatoes that were in need of being used up. I elected to dehydrate them. After boiling and sitting in the fridge over night I broke out the meat slicer to cut these up. Even after chilling in the refrigerator over night it really made a mess of the slicer. I suffered through it only long enough to finish up one dehydrator tray and then quickly switched to dicing the remaining spuds. This time tomorrow these will be done and ready to be put away!
